1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Refugee Horizons website (refugeehorizons.org or localhost/horizon), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.

2. About Refugee Horizons

Refugee Horizons is a non-profit organisation registered in Rwanda under the Rwanda Governance Board (RGB), operating in Kirehe District, Eastern Province, Rwanda. Our mission is to support refugee and host-community children, youth and families in moving from protection to self-reliance.

3. Donations

• Voluntary: All donations are voluntary. By submitting a donation, you confirm that you are the authorised holder of the payment method used.
• Non-refundable: Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us within 14 days at info@refugeehorizons.org and we will review the request.
• Designation: We will make every reasonable effort to apply your donation to your chosen designation. If a designated programme is discontinued, funds will be redirected to where most needed.
• Receipts: A receipt will be emailed to the address you provide. Refugee Horizons receipts are not tax-deductible in all jurisdictions — please consult your local tax authority.
• Recurring donations (Stripe): Monthly or annual card donations are processed automatically by Stripe. You may cancel at any time using the link in your receipt email or by contacting us.
• Recurring donations (MoMo): MTN Mobile Money does not support silent auto-debit. Recurring MoMo giving is reminder-based — you will receive an email before each due date and must approve each payment on your phone.
• Minimum / maximum: Donations must be between USD 1 and USD 50,000 per transaction.

4. Use of This Website

You agree not to:

• Use this website for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of this website or its systems.
• Submit false, misleading or fraudulent information through any form.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl or harvest data from this website without permission.
• Transmit any malicious code, viruses or harmful content.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, photographs, graphics, logos and programme descriptions — is the property of Refugee Horizons or its contributors and is protected by applicable copyright law. You may share content for non-commercial purposes with attribution. You may not reproduce, distribute or use content for commercial purposes without written permission.

6. Photography & Beneficiary Privacy

Photographs on this website depicting programme beneficiaries have been taken with appropriate consent in accordance with our safeguarding policy. We do not publish photographs that identify children by name or location in a way that could compromise their safety. If you have concerns about any image, contact us immediately.

7. Third-Party Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites (e.g. Stripe, MTN MoMo). These links are provided for convenience only. Refugee Horizons is not responsible for the content, privacy practices or terms of any third-party website.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

This website is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of viruses. We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the website at any time without notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Refugee Horizons shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or any donation made through it. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount of the donation in question.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rwanda.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects changes. Continued use of this website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
